BriSCEV was founded in 2003 by Colin Barber (Chair) as the British chapter of ISCEV. David Keating (Secretary), Dorothy Thompson (Treasurer), Malcolm Brown (Education) and Graham Holder (Professional Liaison) formed the first Board. Tony Kriss was instrumental in improving education for visual electrophysiology but sadly died before the founding of BriSCEV (obituary here). Vivien Thorpe edited the newsletter before the Board role of Communications Officer was taken up by David Sculfor and Vikki McBain joined to support the Education officer.
BriSCEV is a small society with far-reaching influence in Ophthalmic and Vision Science. It runs a dynamic annual meeting attracting clinicians, scientists and technicians from across the UK and western Europe. Some details of past meetings are available via the links below.
