If you are not already acting as a STP FYA assessor, and would be interested in doing so, please complete our online expression of interest form. If you know of a colleague who may be interested in acting as a STP FYA Assessor please pass on this information.
The National School of Healthcare Science Get Involved page explains various roles within the School; a link within that page provides further details about speciality expert roles to support the 07/26 STP FYA including Assessors.
This year STP trainees will have their FYA between Monday 6 July to Friday 24 July 2026. Assessors typically assess on one day, though some assess on more than one day. The NSHCS Programme Office seeks to avoid conflicts of interest, for example where an assessor has previously been a trainee's Training Officer. Updated Assessor training will be provided.
Speciality expert roles supporting the STP FYA may be of particular of interest to HSST trainees. The NSHCS HSST Research Impact survey allows trainees to note various professional activities. Copies of survey responses can be downloaded and added to OneFile to detail professional development over time, and potentially support IAPS showcases.
If you have any questions about the STP FYA Assessor role, or other speciality expert roles to support the STP FYA, please email england.nshcs.assessment@nhs.net.
